People travel from afar to come to Barn Yard Stables to have their horses, donkeys and dogs treated for illness and injuries. Sometimes the animals are too weak to walk and are transported via shopping trolleys or wheel barrows.
The Barn Yard Team assess and treat as many animals as they are able to, and in minor cases provide what is needed. Sometimes the assistance of the SPCA is called in; alternatively a vet is called out.
The Team checks and confiscates any dangerous / harmful tack and where possible it is replaced with donated tack. During this time they also educate the riders about proper horse care and humane treatment, making sure that the horses will be better looked after in the future.
As the Centre closes the work is not yet done. The team organize all the available donated tack and medication for the next day. All of the animals treated for the day are documented and kept on file.

We keep track of all animals that come through our gates.
Each animal gets a number assigned to them so that Janine can track their progress. All donated tack is given to people who show that they have taken the advice given by Janine. Only once she has seen a noticable improvement to the animal will she help them through giving them the correct tack.
In the middle right image you can see the dramatic improvement of saddle sores on a horse. Janine does all she can to correctly educate the people who come to see her about proper animal care and how to look after their animals correctly.
This is how donated tack gets utilised.
All your tack gets used to make another horses life a little better, so instead of a piece or rope or a rusty old bit in their mouths they are now able to have a well-fitting new bit that wont cut into their mouths. Halters, bridles, pieces of bridles, bits, numnahs, boots, over reach boots, fly masks, saddles, girths, sturrups, blankets, are all needed to keep Barn Yard Stables going. Please consider donating any old, used or new tack to this worthy cause to better a rural horses life in a small way!

From scrapes to major injuries.
The vast amounts of animals brought to Barn Yard Stables have sustained an injury of some sort. The severity of these injuries vary from scrapes to major lacerations. Most of the injuries Janine is able to treat herself, however there are times that a vet needs to be called in.
Please help us by donating any medical ointments, creams or sprays. We also need cash donations for when there are major injuries so that we are able to pay for the vet bills.

We help them all!
At Barn Yard Stables there are a variety of animals that come through our gates. To name some; kittens, puppies, cats, dogs, donkeys, goats, sheep. We make sure that all the animals we see are treated if needed, people educated on proper care of each animal and and food / blankets / collars given to them.
Change starts with one person at a time!
Through education Janine is able to make the lives of the animals that come to see her much better. Each person that comes through the gates is shown the correct way to do things, how to look after their animals and general care. By changing how the rural poeple treat their animals we are able to better each animals living conditions, one animal at a time. Below is an image of riders bearing gifts to say thank you for the treatment and care they received from Barn Yard Stable.
